Welcome to our blog!
Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

Thank you for visiting our blog!
This is our project for Psychological Statistics (PSYC 1998)
We hope that you'll gain benefits from this site and make a good use of the steps of a method in statistics named regression that we have provided.

Special thanks to our honourable and beloved lecturer Dr. Diana Binti Mohd. Mahudin for her passion and dedication in teaching us. May Allah reward her hard work and everything she has done for us. to all the visitors of this site, may Allah open your hearts to gain new knowledge and strengthen your understandings.

FROM SECTION 2, GROUP 5

INTRODUCTION

In this project, we are using two scales;

1. Eating Attitudes Test
2. Satisfaction of Life

There were 40 sets of questionnaire consist of both scales which were distributed to 40 respondents, who were all students of IIUM. The scores were then recorded in SPSS.

In this project, we've recorded eight necessary steps in conducting our data analysis which are:

CODING STRATEGY,
DATAFILE and KEY-IN DATA, CODEBOOK, SCREENING, CLEANING, PREPARING data, RECHECKING CODEBOOK and checking the STATISTICAL ASSUMPTIONS, DESCRIPTIVE AND INFERENTIAL ANALYSES, REPORTING AND INTERPRETING THE RESULT and REFERENCES

6. 1 DESCRIPTIVE ANALYSIS

Two types of descriptive statistics being shown above. The first data was meant for Descriptive Statistics under Regression while the second data was meant for Descriptive Statistics for Inferential Analysis.

In the output presented above, the information requested for each of the variables is summarized. For the variable total score of life satisfaction, we have information from 40 respondents from level 1 until level 4 respectively (each level consisted of 10 participants, 5 males and 5 females). In addition, total score of eating attitude (M = 11.7, SD = 8.9) were lower than control group (M = 22.6, SD = 4.6).

The graph above has shown normal distribution. This is because the shape is considered as unimodal shape. Next, the type of symmetric meant for normal distribution is zero skewness. Thirdly, Mesokurtic is the peak for this normal distribution. Lastly, the bell curve is normally distribution.

6.2  INFERENTIAL ANALYSIS

The data above has shown Chi-Square tests. First, based on the Pearson Chi-Square t(3.30)=366.72. p<0.08, which is not statistically significant. It is two tailed test.

REGRESSION

A simple linear regression was conducted to examine whether eating attitudes could predict life satisfaction. The result showed that eating attitudes significantly predicts life satisfaction, F(1,38) = 7.37, p<0.01 which is less than 0.05, and indicates that, overall, the regression model statistically significant predict the life satisfaction variable. The eating attitudes accounted for 16.2% of the explained variability in life satisfaction.

As one variable which is the eating attitude (independent variable) increases, then the other variable (dependent variable) in increasing as well. This is because the data has shown a positive correlation between both variables.
